3/30/2020 Datacontract Serialization Attributes
Apply the DataContractAttribute attribute to types (classes, structures, or enumerations) that are used in serialization and deserialization operations by the DataContractSerializer. If you send or receive messages by using the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) infrastructure, you should also apply the DataContractAttribute to any classes that hold and manipulate data sent in messages. The Data Contract Serializer used by default in WCF does not support XML attributes (for performance reasons - the DCS is about 10% faster on average than the XML serializer). So if you really want to use the DCS, you cannot use this structure you have - you would have to change it.
![]() --> Definition
When applied to the member of a type, specifies that the member is part of a data contract and is serializable by the DataContractSerializer.
